Common questions
- Where can I buy Persian sweets in Austin?
- Maison de Maryam bakes traditional Persian sweets to order from a home kitchen in Austin, Texas. The range covers baklava, ghotab, saffron shortbread, walnut puffs, and coconut sweets, sold by the piece, by the tray, or boxed as gifts. Orders are collected in Lakeway or delivered locally.
- How much notice do you need for an order?
- Most pastries and sweet trays need at least 72 hours. Celebration and wedding cakes need considerably longer, usually four to six weeks, because each one is designed and scheduled individually. If your date is sooner than that, ask anyway; Maryam will tell you what she can fit in.
- Do you make custom celebration and wedding cakes?
- Yes. You describe the occasion, the number of servings, and the look you want, and Maryam designs the cake around it. Reference photos help. A 50% deposit secures the date, with the balance due on collection or delivery. Wedding cakes are priced per serving by tier.
- Can you accommodate allergies or dietary needs?
- Gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, vegan, halal, kosher, and sugar-free versions are available on request for many items. Mention the requirement when you order so Maryam can confirm what is workable. The kitchen is a home kitchen, so it cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free environment.
- Do you deliver, or is it pickup only?
- Both. Pickup is in Lakeway at an arranged time. Local delivery around the Austin area costs between $25 and $50 depending on distance. Larger cakes are usually better delivered than transported yourself, and Maryam will say so when a delivery is the safer option.
- How do I place an order?
- Use the custom order form on this site, the contact form, or send a direct message on Instagram to @maisondemaryam.atx. Instagram is the fastest route. Include your date, roughly how many people you are feeding, and any photos of what you have in mind.
